Na I am not dying yet but I am doing something even better to see God .. I am gonna watch a Metallica concert on Aug 9th !!!!
Above statement may sound like outrageous but it is what I and thousands of other rock music lovers can say form heart… I cannot remember when I started listening to Metallica must have been sometime in Engg first year but form then there has been no turning back … if you see any Metallica live concert on a monitor you cannot help but head bang I am serious when I say this I have seen the most uncool creatures on this planet head banging on Metallica songs (including me ..) …
There was really a time when all I did was hear to music and all music I heard was Metallica… courtesy two of my best fiends at college Probs and Anirudh … earlier it all seemed like loud noise to me too but once you hear it I mean really hear it you cannot help but realize the amount of truth and pain about the world around which is portrayed in their songs take “The Unforgiven” for instance ….
One thing that strikes me as peculiar about Metallica and it is the same thing that makes them my favorite is that they take no shit and give neither!! I mean see any one of the recordings of their live concerts and you can instantly realize the amount of respect and appreciation they show towards their fans present there … Never have I seen them showing the middle finger to anyone in the crowd or laugh at someone or do the slightest act that shows what they really are … GOD …
I really cannot pick favorites as I like all of there songs (except the ones from St. Anger), still for the sake of mentioning some ..
Seek and Destroy Hear it at high volume level on your music system and you would think that you are inside the set of Quake 2 I mean the amount of synergy they create with guitar is unheard of …
The Unforgiven I cried the first time I saw this song … never had I seen anything so painful, so sinful but still so still… think of it a man waiting in a room to die due to some sin he had committed and he himself is the Judge, Jury and Executioner for himself ...
For whom the bells toll If u have ever been to a church or better still a school / college you already have heard the best part of this song … THE BELL …. Every time I hear it I simply jump and the small moments of silence in the songs before the next blast really make the4 hair on the back of your neck stand
Low Man’s lyric This one is one of the underdogs but is truly a magnificent piece just out of Metallic’s heart and you have to hear to appreciate it ..
Orion Instrumental This is where Metallica proved that their songs were composed not only of earth shattering vocals but mind blowing guitaring and drumming too this one really moves you …
I just hope that I get to actually hear them in Dallas TX, I would anyways feel blessed to be standing on the same ground as them !!!!
